Why membership?
One of the most commonly asked questions in church is, “Why should I become a member?” First of all, Jesus is committed to His Church. It is by His design that the church operates in the world today as His ambassador. We, too, should be committed to a local church, even as He is. Second, we are instructed by the Apostle Paul to be in relationship and community with fellow believers. This is where we find encouragement, accountability, and nurture. Third, membership lets the church know who can be counted on to do the work of the ministry for God's kingdom. Membership is a strong statement of committing to serve Christ at Mount of Olives.
What is the membership process?
During the, New Connections Class you have the opportunity to learn more about our church, its programs and vision. This class serves as the ”New Member Class” to become part of the Mount of Olives church family.
You will have the opportunity to meet and hear from our pastor in a casual setting. The pastor will cover different topics such as our Mount of Olives Family, Plan of Salvation, Personal Witnessing, Belonging to a Lutheran Church, The Five Expectations for Mount of Olives Membership, what our beliefs are. We also have a Spiritual Gifts Analysis class given in the last portion of the class which allows us to get you connected in the area of your giftedness. This process is capped off with a formal installation of our new members at our Elevate a.m. Service, followed by a reception given in their honor. By the end of either the four week day class or the one Saturday class, it is our intent that you have a better knowledge of Jesus Christ, and Mount of Olives.
